Residency Program

Program Overview

The Kre8 Place Residency Program seeks talented creatives to become integral members of our creative community. This residency is designed to provide opportunities to engage with our platforms and programs, gain hands-on experience, and grow professionally in a collaborative environment.

Ideal Candidates

Aspiring creatives and emerging professionals who want to grow their craft, build their portfolio, and develop a professional network.

  • DJ Track: Novice and aspiring DJs (Paid through tips)

  • Musician Track: Novice and aspiring musicians (Paid through tips)

  • Host Track: Novice and aspiring moderators and host (Paid through tips)

  • Visual Art Track: Novice and professional visual artists (Paid through commission)

  • Video/Photo Track: Novice and professional visual artists (Paid through commission)

Application Requirements

  • Consistent presence in intended field 

  • Creative portfolio or resume outlining experience and goals

  • Located in the Midwest region 

  • Own equipment 

  • One minute video addressing how you demonstrate creative discipline, inspire others, establish short to long term goals

  • Commitment: Minimum of 5 hours/month contribution to Kre8 Place events or community projects.

 Program Opportunities:

  • Showcase Opportunities: Perform, exhibit, or contribute to Kre8 Place events, including WE LIVE, Kre8 Jamz, and Social Club Thursdays.

  • Mentorship: Gain guidance from experienced professionals in your field.

  • Access to Resources: Utilize the Kre8 Place facilities, including studios, event spaces, and production tools, with free access for 4 hours/month.

  • Training and Workshops: Participate in quarterly workshops and networking events tailored to your craft.

  • Performance Portfolio: Receive professional photos and video recordings from events you participate in.

  • Community Engagement: Be part of initiatives that directly impact the local creative community.

  • Collaborative Projects: Collaborate with other residents to create new and innovative works.

Application Process

  • Submit Your Application: Provide your bio, portfolio, and a statement of intent explaining why you want to join the program.

  • Interview & Audition: Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview or audition to assess fit.

  • Program Onboarding: Selected residents will receive orientation, including guidelines, expectations, and upcoming opportunities.
